What is the source of creative ideas? Is entrepreneurship an endowment, or is it possible to come up with great ideas thanks to performing a lot of review? How many methods of developing innovative thoughts are there?
If you make a search on internet, you may find lots of opinions as answers of the abovementioned questions. When we consider that Theory of Relativity based on experimental discoveries rather than hypothesis, the idea-voyagers’ walking on a repeatable road, through which they are able to experiment empirical experiences and reach to uncalculated results rather than searching for a method which may befit in all these questions, constitutes the basis of contemporary studies of entrepreneurial creative thinking.
As the examples of Uber, Facebook, Southwest Airlines have been given too much and are enough to present us as creative, we can hereby proceed to the main topic: To give an ear to the customer, to enter into an investment process for customer in company with the customers and to show the created product to the customer and to adapt the changes.
I don’t work for you without you
Philosophy that lies behind Design Thinking is exactly as it is: Listening to the customer and finding a creative and beneficial solution primarily for his / her needs.
However, how exactly it is going to be? Modern-day managers, who specialized in maintaining the available and resisting against development; how will they find innovative and creative ideas out of the blue, how will they manage creative persons, how will they focus on the maintainability of the firms? Quick response: the inevitable rise of ‘boomers and gen-x’ generations.
What are we going to do with the ones who can’t develop the idea?
As we cannot substitute the whole personnel pursuant to human resources policies; a need for a new method, which will motivate our present employees for creative thinking in an ambient where they will work together and find innovative products and services and make these products and services integrate to the new generation and the customers, aroused (Provided that entrepreneurial and creative persons will undertake its leadership).
Pioneers such as Tim Brown and Roger Martin turned designing into a process that is customer-oriented with more creative ideas and projects, reacting to needs, maintainable, yielding, supporting the growth, rather than being a consequence.
Making everyone a part of the process
If Picasso is able to teach mathematics to his student by making him drawing digits, unexceptionally everyone in companies is able to be a part of the methodology like design thinking; he / she may not develop creative ideas and point of views but he / she may enter into a simultaneous creation process, utter views and ideas by entertaining in an open environment where he / she will not be judged.

Within the sub-headings of each step, there are separate working methods in order to make participants work in the most efficient way. They vary in accordance with the structures of the firm and participants.
Examples of Implementations
Universities such as Northwestern, Harvard, and MIT have begun providing programs that provide training of design thinking. Accenture Firm, moreover, serves with design thinking methodology in all servable sectors at innovation centers that were established in Dublin, Ireland; Paris, France and Singapore. This process, which previously consisted of 5 days, consists of 2 days nowadays. A lot of firms in Turkey, such as Aygaz, Akbank, Mercedes, etc. had discovered design thinking early and have been experiencing it in their centers through workshops.
An ideal design thinking working party shall include 5-8 / 10-12 and 16-24 persons coming from different business units. 2 days of basic studies which may be extended to 5 days when necessary may be a motivating beginning for firms that are introduced to this methodology for the first time.
As a person who believes in and received the education of Design Thinking, I want to criticize this system that will make corporations discover businesses which will create a difference and make those firms differ from its rivals, soon.
Actually, do the most successful ideas need such a phase? Do creativeness and entrepreneurship have stairs which we may observe step by step? The issue which shall be noted here is to allow people who invested in innovation and creativeness to lead these fields in corporations. When this is absent, the expectation of innovation remains as focused on invitation massages beautifully drawn by a graphic designer for innovation, and produced ideas remains as focused on synergy or improvement.
There are different trends that recently increased its usage: Artful thinking, which observes the paths used by artists for creating their artworks and provides a method rooting from here, and complementary methods such as agile, again, agile-based scrum, kanban and lean…
